Dashboard Tour: Understanding your Workspace

A comprehensive walkthrough of the IndieStar interface, widgets, and navigation.

Updated today

Short version: The Indiestar Dashboard is your command center. It is designed to give you a "Head-Up Display" of your career progress. It is divided into three critical zones: the Navigation Sidebar (Tools & Menus), the Top Bar (Search & Wallet), and the Main Workspace (Live Data & Widgets). Mastering this layout is key to managing your campaigns efficiently.

1. The Navigation Sidebar (Left)

This vertical menu is your primary way to move around the platform. It is organized logically:

  • MAIN: This section manages your account status.

    • Dashboard: Returns you to the main overview.

    • Submission: Takes you to the submission history log to check on acceptances/rejections.

    • Upgrade Plan: Where you manage your subscription tier or purchase Coin bundles.

    • Playlists: A browsable directory of available lists.

  • OUR TOOLS: This is your "Creative Studio."

    • Landing Pages: Build Smart Links for your tracks and Link-in-Bios for your profile.

    • AI Generation: A dropdown menu containing the Pitch Writer, Bio Generator, and Press Release tools.

  • RESOURCES:

    • To-Do List: Your task manager.

    • Discover & Rate: The community hub where you can rate other artists.

    • AI Chat: Access to the 24/7 music marketing consultant.

2. The Main Workspace (Center Widgets)

The content in the center changes, but the default Dashboard View is packed with widgets designed to give you instant insights:

  • Curator Performance Widget: Before you submit, check the stats here. You will see an Overall Score (e.g., 8/10), a Playlist Quality bar (detecting organic growth vs. bots), and a Reviews Quality rating. This transparency ensures you know exactly who you are dealing with.

  • Playlist Description & Genres: Read the specific "vibe" required. For example, you might see tags like "ALT ROCK" or "INDIE ROCK" alongside a description asking for "powerful distorted guitar riffs."

  • To-Do List Widget: This isn't just a static list. If you use the AI Planner to create a campaign, your tasks appear here. You can see priority tags (e.g., a red "High" tag for urgent tasks) and check off items directly from the dashboard.

  • Discover Tracks / Top Rated: A leaderboard showing trending tracks in the community. This is a great way to benchmark your music against other Indiestar users.

3. The Top Bar (Utility)

  • Search Bar: Press CMD+K or click here to quickly jump to a specific track or playlist.

  • Coins Balance: Your digital wallet is always visible in the top right (e.g., "100 Coins"). Click the + icon to top up immediately.

  • Notifications (Bell Icon): The red dot alerts you to critical updates—usually when a curator has responded to your submission or when a new feature is live.
