Short version: Your catalog is the core of the IndieStar Operating System. The platform behaves differently depending on the status of your track:
Unreleased Tracks: Locked promotion features, but open for AI preparation (Bios, Pitches).
Released Tracks: Fully unlocked features including Curator Submission and Landing Pages.
This guide teaches you how to transition a track from "In Prep" to "Live Campaign" seamlessly.
Step 1: Adding a New Track
To add a track to your catalog, navigate to your Dashboard and look for the "Add Track" button. The system will ask for essential metadata. Accuracy here is vital because our AI uses this data to generate your assets.
Metadata: Enter the exact Artist Name and Track Title.
Genre & Mood: Be specific. Don't just select "Pop." Select "Dance Pop" or "Electro Pop." This helps our AI match you with the right curators later.
Spotify Link:
Leave Empty: To create an "Unreleased" track.
Fill In: To create a "Released" track (must be a valid open.spotify.com link).
Step 2: The Pre-Release Phase (Preparation)
We highly recommend uploading your music to IndieStar days or weeks before it comes out. By keeping the track in "Unreleased" status, you can prepare your campaign without the pressure of launch day.
During this phase, navigate to the AI Generation menu. You can pre-write your "Curator Pitches" and "Press Releases" so they are saved and ready to go. You can also populate your To-Do List with a launch countdown (e.g., "Tease cover art," "Email newsletter").
Note: You will see a "Locked" icon on the Submission and Landing Page tabs during this phase.
Step 3: Launch Day Workflow (Going Live)
The moment your song becomes available on Spotify, you should update your IndieStar dashboard to unlock your campaign.
Copy your new link: Go to Spotify, find your new song, click "Share," and "Copy Song Link."
Edit Track: In IndieStar, find your unreleased track and click the Edit (pencil) icon.
Paste & Save: Paste the URL into the Spotify Link field and save changes.
Instant Unlock:
The system will immediately verify the link. Your track status will flip to "Released."
Submissions Unlocked: You can now see the list of curators matching your genre and start sending pitches.
Landing Pages Unlocked: You can now generate your "Track Page" smart link to share on Instagram/TikTok bio.
💡Pro Tip: If you have a Super Star subscription with "Automated Monthly Submissions," the system will detect the new "Released" status and can automatically begin pitching your track to relevant playlists in the next cycle, ensuring you never miss a promotion window.
